Old Masters Tweeting Draws Online Crowds to The Pulitzer

Evolving Arts & Culture Ad Network showcases engaging partnership with The Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts.

New York, NY, May 7, 2009 -- "@indyartgirl Very innovative online advertising from the @thepulitzer! http://is.gd/b1ZB Via @culturepundits." With a new Twitter-powered campaign promoting its Ideal (Dis-) Placements: Old Masters at the Pulitzer exhibition, The Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts is currently drawing notice throughout the 25 leading arts and culture blogs and websites that make up the Culture Pundits Arts & Culture Ad Network (www.culturepundits.com).

The campaign which makes the museum's ongoing 'tweets' available to hundreds of thousands of arts professionals and enthusiasts across the country through the Culture Pundits Network was conceived by Mathes Grant LLC, an artist-founded creative marketing consultancy and strategic partner of the network. The sponsorship provides The Pulitzer with a cost-effective, highly-visible, custom-branded channel of interactivity within the traditional online ad space. Culture Pundits, which recently evolved from a traditional CPM ad model to embrace a more robust sponsorship model is motivated by the belief that successfully executed sponsorships perform a service to the reading public as well as to the content providers.

"I was drawn to advertising with Culture Pundits because of its support of cultural discourse online," said Rachel Gagnon, Communications & Web Manager at The Pulitzer Foundation. "The Pulitzer believes these kinds of outlets are invaluable and actively participates in the online art community – advertising on the sites that we value and admire seemed like a natural fit."

The recently relaunched Culture Pundits, in its effort to reduce visual clutter while enhancing its offering to sponsors, now features a single larger, more prominently-placed sponsorship ad space across all of the sites in the network. The network, which has run successful campaigns for organizations such as the Museum of Modern Art, The Brooklyn Museum, The Armory Show, The American Symphony Orchestra, Mark Moore Gallery and Tekserve, now limits its sponsorships to a maximum of 10 sponsors each month as part of the new program.

Culture Pundits Network, managed by Tristan Media LLC, a technology consulting company specializing in the arts, and Mathes Grant LLC, consists of an exclusive, carefully curated list of 25 leading cultural sites. Among these are blogs such as Tomorrow Museum, a web page cited by the New York Times and the Boston Globe for its incisive analysis of cultural topics, Greencine Daily, a film blog lauded by Variety as a must-read for cinephiles, Lost City, a vintage architecture site that has been covered in the New York Times, the New York Observer and NPR affiliate WNYC, among other outlets, and ArtCat, the popular arts calendar and longstanding number one Google search result for "New York gallery openings." The network provides sponsors with a cost-effective way of reaching a cumulative readership of approximately 1 million of the most engaged collectors, aficionados and arts and media professionals working around the United States and the world.
