Eric Doeringer is a Brooklyn-based artist. Since 2001, Doeringer has been selling inexpensive “Bootleg” versions of work by contemporary artists on the streets of Chelsea and at art fairs including Art Basel (Miami and Switzerland), The Armory Show, Frieze, GEISAI Miami, Scope (London, Miami, and Hamptons), and ArtLA. Doeringer’s other projects include a “fan site” dedicated to Matthew Barney, counterfeit Art Basel VIP Cards, sculptures incorporating articles of contraband, and hand-embroidered “Polo” shirts. He has had solo exhibitions at Katharine Mulherin (Toronto), another year in LA (Los Angeles), Apex Art (New York), and Soma NYC (New York).
